Trophic State Index (2024)

Trophic State Index is part of the installation work Limnologies. The video combines fieldwork and documentation from Rabbit Island in Lake Superior, where the artists lived and worked off grid for two subsequent summers.The work posits that far from being static, the geologic formations that make up Rabbit Island are dynamic, living entities that continue to shape and be shaped by changing climate. The exhibition title Trophic State Index refers to the artists’ varied and extensive observations of the lake, ranging from absurd to poetic.
